2008 Vawdon Cup Draft Draw Available
Vawdon Cup

The 2008 Competition sees the emergence of the Mixed Premier League, to sit along both Men's & Women's Premier League. These competitions will commence on the 11th July at Tempe, with all other divisions commencing on the 18th July.

The competition will be having several general byes throughout due to the State of Origin (15th & 22nd August) and the U/18 & U/20 NTL (19th September).

The final draw will be released at the Vawdon Cup Managers Meeting in the Gillawarra Room Bankstown Sports Club on Thursday 3rd July 7pm.

Sydney Mets Region: U/18 Boys & U/20 Girls Coach Required
Sydney Mets are advertising for suitably qualified coaches for their Under 18's boys and girls team as well as the Under 20's Girls for the 2008 NTL in September.

Sydney Scorpions Under 20s Boys & Under 18s / 20s Girls Trials for National Touch League 2008.

The trials for the Sydney Scorpions Under 20 boys, Under 18 girls & Under 20s girls will take place on 20 July 2008 at Doyle ground Nth Parramatta.

Players need to be in attendance to register by 4pm. Selectors and officials will be in attendance to assist in the conduct of the trials. A $50 deposit will be required to be paid at the trial. Please note there will be a cost to attend the tournament.

Please note that players need to be in attendance in order to be selected. Only in exceptional circumstances will letters be accepted for absences.

Any such letter must be with Mark Brisby Director, Juniors prior to the trial for consideration by the Selector's.

2008 State Conference Program Released
NSWTA Conference

The 2008 NSW Touch Assocation State Conference will take place on 26th & 27th July at the Holiday Inn Sydney Airport.

NSWTA State Conference aims to improve the delivery of our Sport with a specific focus on our Affiliates and volunteers. Presentations are made throughout the weekend aimed to assist and enhance the ability of affiliates to provide a better product for our members. The Conference offers a tremendous opportunity to learn what other Touch Associations are doing as well the networking with members from across the State including Regional and State Officials.

The NSWTA will fund one (1) delegate from each Affiliate to attend. This includes accommodation and travel assistance for attendees outside of the Sydney Metropolitan area, lunch and refreshments on both days and all conference resources along with one (1) ticket to the NSWTA Blues Dinner. We would encourage all Affiliates to send more than one delegate to the conference to gain as much knowledge form the weekend as possible.

Delegates arriving on Friday 25th July will also be VIP Guests at the Vawdon Cup, Australia's premier week-to-week touch event. Furthermore each affiliate who sends a delegate for the full Conference and Blues Dinner will be eligible to WIN a new Laptop computer provided by the NSWTA under the Special Grants program.

The Blues Dinner will recognise our state's best Affiliates, Regions, Administrators, Players, Juniors, Volunteers, Referees, Coaches and Selectors. The 2008 NSWTA Blues Awards winners and Hall of Fame inductees will also be recognised on the night.

Southern Suns Region: U/18 & U/20 NTL Trials

The Southern Suns Region are having Trials for the U/18 & U/20 NTL male and female teams. These trials will be held at Walker Park Yass on the 19th July beginning at 10am.

Year 9/10 All Schools State Final
All Schools

The Year 9 & 10 All Schools State Final will be played on Friday 27th June. The venue is Kingsway Playing Fields, St Marys.

The Draft Draw is now able to be viewed here Sydney All Schools Website The finalised draw will be available at the compulsory teachers/managers meeting which will be held at 8:30am at the ammenities block at the fields.

A reminder that schools must supply one referee per team as per the Conditions of Entry. If you have not provided the name of your referee please contact Andrew Lees immediately.

Sydney Mets U/18 & U/20 Trials
The Sydney Mets Region Under 18 trials and Under 20 trials, for boys & girls, will take place on 29 June 2008 at the Kingsway playing fields, Penrith.

Year 9 & 10 All Schools State Final - Referees Required
All Schools
Twenty referees are required for the NSWTA Year 9 & 10 All Schools State Final to be held at Kingsway Playing Fields, St Marys on Friday 27th June, 2008. This event was scheduled for Friday 13th June but has been moved due to the wet weather.

Referees are required to have a minimum of a Level 1 Accreditation.

Referees will be paid $70 on the day (9am - 3pm). Lunch will also be provided for all referees.

Take your refereeing to the next level.
When: Sunday 13th July 2008 from 8:30am till 3pm.
Where: Liverpool Touch Fields. Paciullo Park Liverpool(access via Reilly St)
How much: $30 per person includes Morning Tea, Lunch and tea/coffee.

Payment is due by Fri 4/7/08. Make cheques payable to Sydney Rebels for Level 2 Referees Course and payable to Liverpool TA for Level 1 Referees Course.

    The Central Coast Dolphins have continued their fantastic run at the Country Championships with their fifth title in six years in the Men's Open division with their own version of the "Great Escape" against the Wallsend Wolves.

    NSWTA Board Approve Player Points System
    The NSWTA instigated a `points committee' to review the need of instigating a points system for NSWTA representative events commencing with the 2007 State Cup.

    This committee was made up of eminent persons involved in the game over many years. They were Andy Yiangou- West's TA, Peter Forrester- Canterbury TA, Mark Boland- Parramatta TA, Gab Rose- Cronulla TA, John Howard- Penrith TA plus Dean Russell and Rob Summers representing the NSWTA.
