Boland and Smith Medal – Round 4 Update

After Round 4 in the Boland Medal, it appears that your name needs to begin with a D if you are a chance in this year’s race to see who wears the prestigious medal at the Blues Dinner on October 14. Daniel, Dylan, Dean and Daniel (Barton, Hennesey, Springfield and Stone) are all setting the pace. However, Ben Moylan is lurking close by and won’t let the “D’s” have it all their own way as we get deeper into the competition. Having won the medal previously he will be keen to once again have Mark Boland place it around his neck in 2017.

The Smith Medal sees both Dani Davis of Manly and Ash Quinlan from Easts as equal leaders. Neither will be able to relax when they look over their shoulder. Previous winners Winchester, Mohi and Peatie are all breathing down their necks. The Bears Andrea Roditis has continued her good form to remain in touch with the leaders. Like the Boland Medal, the Smith medal is wide open at this early stage of the season.

Following next weeks round votes go behind closed doors until the Medal count is revealed at the Annual Blues Dinner on October 14 in the Grand Ballroom of Bankstown Sports Club.
