University of Wollongong Study

13.07.10

The University of Wollongong, in partnership with the New South Wales Sporting Injury Committee, is conducting a research study to identify the underlying cause behind Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in Australian Touch Football players, particularly females.

It is hoped that this study will lead to the development of strategies and training programs to prevent this injury within Touch Football players.

To conduct the study, the University of Wollongong are looking to recruit Touch Football players between the ages of 16 to 30 who play in division one or two of a competition or have played representative Touch Football.

Inclusion/exclusion criteria:

1.     Be aged between 16-30 years of age

2.     Currently play Touch Football in a representative side or division one or two of a Touch Football competition.

3.     Have no current lower limb or other injuries that prevent you from playing Touch Football.

4.     Have not had any right lower limb surgeries or severe injuries or a previous ACL injury.
