2024/2025 AFFILIATE REPRESENTATIVE RANKINGS

Warners Bay High School – 2018 Champions of Year 11/12 Mixed Challenge

Congratulations to the equally talented boys and girls from Warners Bay High School who were undefeated on the way to clinching their first NSW Touch Football Year 11/12 State Final title!

This trophy now adds to the school’s growing Touch Football cabinet in recent times following the Year 9/10 boys side of 2017 narrowly placing second in the NSW State Final before winning the Year 9/10 National Schools Cup last September on the Sunshine Coast. The Hunter-based school now look towards another year of strong performances in NSW Touch Football All Schools events.

20 teams from across the state came together on Friday, 16th March for the third installment of the NSW Touch Football Year 11/12 Mixed Challenge State Final at The Kingsway Playing Fields in St Marys, home of Penrith Touch Association.

The Year 11/12 Mixed Challenge is one of the few unique NSW Touch school events where girls & boys across the state get the chance to represent their schools in a mixed competition. This is an excellent opportunity for both genders to showcase their skills in a mixed format.

The quarter finals saw a mix of schools from all over NSW contending for finals spots. Mudgee High School, St Joseph’s Regional College, Port Macquarie & Taree High School all traveling from far west & north coast respectively, made it through to the competition’s knockout stages. It was high stakes come finals time as 2016 champions All Saints/St Mary’s Maitland narrowly missed out on progressing to semi-finals in their game against traditional powerhouses Narrabeen Sports High School.

It became a case of the usual suspects in the semi finals with defending champions Narara Valley High School taking on Narrabeen Sports High School in semi final 1, and brother-sister school combination Holy Cross/Marist Sisters up against consistent contenders Warners Bay High School.

Warners Bay High School proved too much for Holy Cross/Marist Sisters to handle, locking in a Grand Final spot winning 7 – 2 against one of the best performers throughout the day.

After a fast 2-0 start from Narrabeen Sports High School, defending champions Narara Valley HS fought back to earn themselves the second Grand Final spot winning 4 -2 in a thrilling game.

Narara Valley High School went into the Grand Final hopeful for back-to-back championships but a fast start from Warners Bay High School scoring in the first 2 minutes of the game set the tone for the match. They continued their great form displayed throughout the day with a polished performance to win the grand final 6 – 2.

Congratulations again to Warners Bay High School on their first NSW Touch Football Year 11/12 State Final title. Players of the Final were Caitlin Shoulders & Ryan Potts both from the championship winning side.

A huge thank you to all the referees who attended in assisting to deliver a great event.

As always, we wish to thank Penrith Touch Association for their ongoing support of NSW Touch Football School Events.
