Stuart Geros Joins the NSWTA Board

The NSW Touch Association is excited to announce that Stuart Geros, of Manly Touch Association, will be joining the Board in the capacity of the second Independent Director. His tenure is effective immediately, and he joins Mark Hearnden as the Boards two Independent Directors.

NSWTA General Manager Dean Russell said he was delighted with the Boards decision and is looking forward to working with Stuart.

“Stuart Geros is an excellent addition to our Board and his talents will aid in setting the future direction of the sport here in NSW. He comes to the Board with a strong entrepreneurial business background and a demonstrated passion for the sport which will value add to our current Board makeup”. He said Stuart has not only a strong and successful business background but also knowledge of and a love for the sport. He will provide new and refreshing insights to the Board as they look toward the next strategic cycle.

Stuart was elated with his appointment. “Over the last few years, Touch Football has really increased its profile. I’ve watched participation grow and love watching the quality of play at the grassroots of my home club and in the NRL
Premiership every week. I’m truly honored to be invited to join the board of NSW Touch Football and I’m looking forward to working with the NSW Touch Team and the board, to increase our participation numbers further and to see Touch Football’s brand continue to rise over the years to come.” He said.

At the previous AGM, the members via a constitutional change gave the Board the power to appoint a second Independent Director. Following this, the Board undertook aa process to look at prospective candidates who would bring a new skill set to the Board.

After some initial discussions, the Board met with Stuart on Saturday, July 27 to discuss his views on the sport, on the Board and where he felt he could value add. Following this meeting, the Board contacted Stuart to advise their wish to appoint him as the second Independent Director. They were delighted when he accepted.

Stuart will commence work with the Board immediately.
