Touch Football Australia (TFA) is aware of the announcement from Prime Minister Scott Morrison advising against non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people as of this coming Monday 16 March 2020.

I have met with both NSW Touch Association (NSWTA) and Queensland Touch Football (QTF) to discuss the immediate and future impact of this most recent development on the sport.

Firstly, the National Touch League currently being played in Coffs Harbour will continue unaffected and as planned. We are monitoring the situation and will assess any change in the government’s position as it comes to hand.

Secondly, we are aware of the impact this may have on future events and competitions across the country.

TFA in partnership with NSWTA and QTF will gather more information and a clearer understanding of this most recent development before providing a whole-of-sport position in the coming days.

Jamie O’Connor, CEO, Touch Football Australia
