Vawdon Cup Regrade & Final Series

As highlighted in the recent memorandum on the 3rd August, NSW Touch Football (NSWTA) were reviewing the current performance of teams within the Vawdon Cup across the first four (4) rounds.

As such NSWTA can advise that the following teams have been re-graded as of today and will participate in their new division as of round 5 of the competition which is scheduled for Friday August 18th;

With the movement of teams there will also be ladder adjustments which will be implemented after the completion of Round 5 (18/8). These adjustments will see all teams that have changed divisions carry three-quarters (3/4 or 75%) of all ladder statistics into their new divisions.

Final Series Details

With the final series structure they will be in the main broken into Championship and Bowl Final Series where applicable. As per the feedback provided previously this is not included into the Premier League Divisions.

Rules & Regulations

New South Wales Touch Football reminds all participants that it is essential that they are aware of the Vawdon Cup Conditions of Entry as well as the NSWTA General Conditions of Entry. As previously mentioned there were changes in each of these documents compared to previous years.

Final Series Eligibility-As per Section 3.2 of the Vawdon Cup Conditions of Entry;

“A player must have played a minimum of three (3) rounds to be eligible for the final series. Any players not fulfilling the criteria due to extenuating circumstances must make written application to the Events Coordinator for consideration.

Finals Qualification Criteria

1 Must have participated in 3 games within the Vawdon Cup

2 To qualify for a final series players must have played 50% or greater of their games in that division/category. For example if a player has played 4 games in division 2 and 5 games in division 1 the player is only eligible for Division

3 If a player has played more than 3 games but equally 50% in two categories they are eligible for both final series

4 If a player has qualified in a division, they are able to participate in the division higher and still return to their original divisions without penalty”
